This practice is based on the interplay between user, place and space. This has been the subject of a lot of investigations and projects. In the past experiments have been conducted on participation processes between the user and the built environment but much less on how the experience of space could influence ‘architecture’. How do we manage this? How do we, as designers, value the users’ experience of space as a forgotten designelement.
A technique based on the use of drawing to find and translate qualities in-between user and space: subjective values within the human environment, personal spatial experiences and perception. How do we perceive and experience space has been developed. By collecting those individual spatial habits through drawing, personal values are lifted above the level of the individual with the aim to integrate those collective values within the further development of that space as an extra parameter to design with.
